The small town of Zwenkau is located amidst the “Leipziger Neuseenland”, a lake area around Leipzig, with an expected water surface area of about 120 km2 altogether, 24 of the lakes exceeding 1 km2. Emerged from the former brown coal area north and south of Leipzig, the “Leipziger Neuseenland” develops more and more to one of the region’s main attractions, where Leipzig city tourism and vacation complement one another perfectly.
